Academic Magnet's Liam Christensen won the Penn Relays javelin today with a throw of 219 feet, two inches. The junior's throw is the fifth best ever of the meet.
The mark is currently ranked national no. two.

Academic Magnet coach Brian Johnson told scrunners Christensen is preparing his senior thesis on getting the javelin approved as a South Carolina High School League event.
Alumni Brandon Hudgins (Olympic development mile) and Calesio Newman (U.S.A. vs. the World) are competing Saturday.
